"Over the past 10 years, the number of visitors to the Parsons Reserve daffodil field has skyrocketed as social media has spread the word about its incredible beauty. In 2015, there were over 12,000 visitors in the period between early April and early May! The large number of visitors has significantly increased wear and tear on the Parsons Reserve, including the trampling of daffodils by people who wander off the narrow paths. DNRT now has to rely on a group of volunteers and temporary staff to protect this incredible resource. Community Strings Fundraiser

The Community String Project (CSP), a 501(c)(3) non-­profit organization, began in July of 2009 with the goal of serving all youth in the East Bay area, regardless of income, through an innovative, school-based music program centered on string instruments. In addition to the value of learning how to play an instrument (which has been shown to increase academic performance), students also benefit from being involved in a supportive activity that assists with dropout prevention, fosters community engagement, and increases self-esteem.
